One of the popular destinations in SE Asia is Thailand. With pandemic, Thailand had closed its borders and also announced a strict lockdown which has affected the country with huge losses. Being one of the tourist-oriented places, Thailand’s main GDP was derived from Tourism and with lockdown and closing borders has affected the country leaving with a huge amount of debt.
With countries bouncing back to normalcy, Thailand has reopened its borders from July 1 however not every person can visit Thailand as it comes with specific rules and restrictions.
The governor of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently said “We have to look at the country of origin [of visitors] to see if their situation has truly improved. And lastly, we have to see whether our own business operators are ready to receive tourists under the ‘new normal,”
